Pickup Wiring
HUMBUCKERS
All of our humbuckers are wired as described below:
RED – North Start
BLACK – North Finish
WHITE – South Start
GREEN – South Finish
Red is designated as ‘hot,’ while the black and white wires should be connected together. Similarly, the green and bare wires should be tied together. All Labyrinth humbuckers are preconfigured in this manner before leaving the shop; however, the end of the wires are not soldered to allow users the flexibility to explore alternative wiring options.
The outer ‘screw coil’ on our humbuckers are always wound clockwise, featuring south magnet polarity. For instance, this will correspond to the north coil in our neck pickups and the south coil in our bridge humbuckers.
SINGLE COILS
All of our single coils are wired as described below:
CREAM – Start
BLACK – Finish
All of our single-coil pickups are wound clockwise, with the top of the pole pieces exhibiting south polarity. In select single-coil sets that include a reverse wound reverse polarity (RWRP) middle pickup, this middle pickup will have the opposite configuration. This design facilitates an in-phase, humbucking effect when splitting the outer coils of humbuckers paired with an RWRP single coil in HSS or HSH setups.
